Inspiration for Jukebox Live

I’ve been performing in bands since I was 16, some 47 years now.  Over the years, I’ve observed challenges all bands have in keeping them an active performing band. There are many hurdles, from finding and retaining band members, song selection, band name, equipment, rehearsal times, finding gigs, and positive interaction with the audience while performing.

Once the band is formed and ready to play, one key challenge is staying hireable by finding a way to get people to their shows. The better a band is at doing that, the more likely they get the opportunity to play gigs.

On the flip side, I’m a fan of watching live bands perform as well, but finding where a local cover band is playing the kind of music I want to hear is also a common challenge.

I knew with the new world of mobile apps, many of the problems could be solved, and by pulling from my professional career as an IT guy I could make it happen.

In my next blog, I’ll talk about how I think we can improve the live music experience using the Jukebox Live app.
